Pocket Monsters Carddass Trading Cards was a set of Pokémon-themed trading cards manufactured by Bandai Carddass in 1997 in Japan, with all artwork drawn by Ken Sugimori. There are 151 standard cards and several special cards. The standard cards each feature a Pokémon from Generation I.
The front of the standard cards depicted artwork of a Pokémon using a move they can learn via level up, often their signature moves or a move that was notable to them. Much of the artwork depicted was exclusive to this series. The backs of the cards gave simple information on the featured Pokémon, usually on their evolution families and at what level they evolve at. A few cards also had holographic backgrounds on the front, as opposed to the usual non-holographic, pixalated background.
