Bouffalant is a large, brown buffalo Pokémon. It features a large dark afro on its head, with two equally large horns protruding from it. Each horn has two golden circlets on it. It has a long light brown hide which ends at its knees.

Special abilities
Even if it is dealt with a violent headbutt, its tufty afro-like fur absorbs the damage. With its destructive power, it is said to derail a running train. It is the only Pokémon that can learn Head Charge.
Behavior
Bouffalant charge wildly and headbutt everything.
Habitat
Bouffalant live in grasslands terrain and can be found grazing in the hills.
Alder's Bouffalant made its debut in Ash and Trip's Third Battle!. It was shown battling in a flashback of Trip's past and inspired him to become a Pokémon Trainer. It returned in Ash Versus the Champion! where it faced Pikachu in a battle with Ash. Alder fell asleep during the battle, resulting in no winner.
A herd of Bouffalant appeared in Baffling the Bouffalant!. They attacked anyone in their territory who wasn't wearing an afro.
Bouffalant are Sawsbuck's friends. They are a little rough, but they care about their friends. They are also fairly popular, because they can be counted on in a pinch.
Bouffalant can appear at Level 56 in the thick grass of Route 23, making it, as well as the three Amoonguss that are disguised as fake items, the highest leveled non-legendary wild Pokémon the player can legally obtain in any game prior to defeating the Elite Four and Champion.
Origin
Bouffalant is based on a buffalo; specifically, an American Bison. However, the horns more closely resemble those of the African Water Buffalo. The fur on its head resembles an afro. It has single-toed hooves like a horse rather than those of a bovine.
