Scolipede is a centipede-like Pokémon, with bright magenta coloration interspersed with purple rings spaced evenly along its segmented upper body. Its horns, extending from its head in a similar way to antennae, are long and slightly twisted. Purple banding decorates its horns, as well as its similarly-shaped dual tails. It has four pairs of purple-tipped forelegs, capable of injecting poison. Its legs further down its body are longer, with curved black patterns and black tipping on the extremities of the limb.

The claws on its neck can inject powerful poison that could paralyze or kill any Pokémon who touch it. Scolipede is also extremely fast for its size.
Behavior
Scolipede are very aggressive and will not give up until victorious. They chase down enemies with their great speed then relentlessly attack with their horns until prevailing. They poison their opponents with the claws on their necks.
A wild Scolipede appeared in The Bloom Is on Axew!. Iris's Axew fell out of a tree and got caught in Scolipede's antennae. This startled Scolipede and caused it to go on a rampage, until Iris's Excadrill decided to defeat it with its Drill Run attack.
Another wild Scolipede appeared in Emolga the Irresistible!, attacking Ash, Cilan, and Bianca after Bianca accidentally enrages it by having her Pignite use Flamethrower on Scolipede when she thought it was the wild Emolga she was after. The three Trainers soon managed to escape from the angry Megapede Pokémon.

Scolipede's species shows that it was inspired by the centipede, most likely the Scolopendra gigantea. It could be based on Arthropleura, a prehistoric relative of centipedes that grew to 2 and a half metres. Scolipede also has a little in common with millipedes, and may also draw inspiration from a red Archispirostreptus gigas, a species of millipede often kept as a pet. Its appearance may also draw reference to scoliosis, a spinal condition in which the backbone curves abnormally. This may also draw reference to its major increase in height between its evolutionary forms. Scolipede's posture, and the fact that it stands on four 'main' legs, could be an indication that it draws some inspiration from centaurs.
