Jigglypuff (Japanese: プリン Purin) is a Fairy-type Pokémon.
It evolves from Igglybuff when leveled up with high friendship and evolves into Wigglytuff when exposed to a Moon Stone.
Biology
Physiology
Jigglypuff appear to be round, pink balls with small, cat-like ears and very large eyes. Jigglypuff have rubbery, balloon like skin. They have small stubby arms, but rather large feet and no tail. They appear to have a hair-like curl on their head. Jigglypuff seems to be filled with air, as a defeated Jigglypuff in Pokémon Stadium, along with its sequels, floats down to the ground like a deflated balloon or a piece of paper. Jigglypuff has also been able to deflate in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as one of its taunts.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Jigglypuff is most known for singing soothing lullabies that can make almost anything sleep. Like Clefairy, Jigglypuff is also capable of learning various elemental attacks. They can also float in the air and the wind easily blows them about.
Behavior
Jigglypuff use their big, round eyes to mesmerize their opponents. Once their foe is distracted, they will inflate their lungs and begin to sing a soothing lullaby. If the opponent resists falling asleep, these Pokémon will endanger their own lives by continuing their song until their lungs run out of air.
Habitat
Jigglypuff are mostly found in lush green plains and grassy meadows, but they sometimes do appear in caves. Jigglypuff can also be found in some cities and towns. It is indigenous to every region except Orre.

Major appearances
Jigglypuff (anime)
From The Song of Jigglypuff through the end of the Johto series, a wild Jigglypuff followed Ash Ketchum's group, intent on performing its trademark song without causing its audience to fall asleep. It rarely, if ever, succeeded. Jigglypuff would scribble all over the faces of anyone who fell asleep after hearing the song. After Johto, Jigglypuff started to only appear very rarely. It reappeared being featured in one early Advanced Generation episode.
Little Pink
Marina has a green-eyed Jigglypuff. She used it to battle against Jimmy's Beedrill and in a Super Contest with Wani-Wani later on.
Other
Another green-eyed Jigglypuff was featured in Rough, Tough Jigglypuff. Mitch Mitchum wanted to capture this Balloon Pokémon for his daughter's birthday.
Ursula used a green-eyed Jigglypuff during her Double Performance along with her Gabite in the Daybreak Town Contest in Yes in Dee Dee, It's Dawn!.

A Jigglypuff is one of the main characters from the Magical Pokémon Journey manga. She is a rich, spoiled Pokémon who lives in a mansion with her sister, Wigglytuff, and a butler, Squirtle. She loves to cook, despite the fact that she is a bad chef and her cooking often causes others to become ill.
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
- Main article: Jiggly
Green of Pokémon Adventures has a Jigglypuff nicknamed Jiggly. It is her starter Pokémon and is capable of swelling up to several times its size, allowing Green to float with it like a hot-air balloon as well as block narrow passageways -- a tactic instrumental in helping Silver and her escape the Masked Man. Later, in the FireRed & LeafGreen arc, it evolved into a Wigglytuff alongside two of Green's other Pokémon with the power of her Moon Stones. Notably, in Chuang Yi's translation, it is the only Pokémon on her team without a nickname despite being the first Pokémon she ever received. The reason for this is that during her captivity under the Masked Man, she was reprimanded for wishing to nickname it.
In the Pokémon Pocket Monsters manga
Green's Jigglypuff debuted in The Big Battle In The Viridian Forest!!.

Trivia
- Jigglypuff is typically depicted in the Smash Bros. series and other 3D games, Rough, Tough Jigglypuff and other anime episodes, and Ken Sugimori's art with green eyes and tea rose pink fur, more closely resembling its Shiny form.
- Jigglypuff's evolutionary family shares the same species name with Qwilfish and Drifloon. They are all known as Balloon Pokémon
- Jigglypuff's Crystal still sprite is different from that of Gold and Silver, making it one of few Pokémon to have three distinctly different sprites in Generation II.
Origin
It appears to be based on a balloon and a pink puff.
Name origin
Jigglypuff is a combination of jiggly and puff, referring to its wobbly shape and ability to inflate itself.
Purin may be a combination of 風船 fūsen (balloon) and 膨れる fukureru (to expand or inflate), as well as a pun on プリン purin (pudding).
