Electivire (Japanese: エレキブル Elekibull) is one of the new Generation IV Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
Electivire is a humanoid creature covered in yellow fur with black stripes. Electivire has five black fingers on each of its hands. Electivire lacks a neck, similarly to its baby form, Elekid, and has red eyes, a black spot on its forehead and the same antennae as Electabuzz. There is a pattern on Electivire's back that resembles an electric outlet. Electivire has two black tails that each have a red tip. Electivire has black feet with three toes in the front.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Electivire can use attacks that its pre-evolutions can use, except that Electivire's attacks will be more powerful. However, Electivire is also capable of knowing Flamethrower, Earthquake and Rock Slide. Electrical attacks are unable to do any damage to Electivire, but they will instead stimulate its muscles so it can move faster.
Behavior
Habitat
Electivire are scarce in the wild, but there is a slim chance of finding them in power plants.[citation needed]

Trivia
- Despite being used to advertise Sinnoh to Ash by Gary in the anime, Electivire isn't obtainable in Sinnoh until after having beaten the Elite Four, and even then only by twice evolving a Pokémon caught via the dongle method.
- In Pokémon Battle Revolution, it is possible to get a transferable Electivire by entering the following code at the "Self-Introduction" option in the Profile menu:
BA16-X4SH-E2AT
. The Electivire will be level 50, an Adamant male, inside a regular Poké Ball with a Magnet and will know the moves ThunderPunch, Ice Punch, Cross Chop, and Earthquake.
Origin
Electivire seems to be based on a yeti.
Name origin
Elekibull is believed to be combination of エレキテル electricity and ブル bull. Electivire is based off of the word "electricity" and "wire", as in the two cord-like tails it has. Its name could have also been based off of "virus", referring to computer viruses, or vampire, because its ability "feeds" off of electric attacks.
