Trivia

  • Although several trainers in Diamond and Pearl have Bronzor at above level 33, the required level for evolution into Bronzong, Lucian is the only one to have let his Bronzor evolve into Bronzong.
  • Despite being based off a bronze bell, Bronzong doesn't learn any sound-based techniques naturally, nor can it learn any by TM.

Origin

Bronzong is based off of a dōtaku.

Name origin

Its English name is a combination of "bronze" and "dong," as in the sound that a bell makes. Its Japanese name is a portmanteau of the words 銅鐸 dōtaku, meaning bronze bell, and どんどん dondon, the sound it produces.

In other languages

  • French: Archeodong - From "archeo", Latin for "ancient", and "dong", a bell's noise.
