Enter The Dragonite (Japanese: ファイナルバトル!カイリューとうじょう!! Final Battle! Enter Kairyu!!) is episode 112 of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on September 9, 1999 and in the United States on September 23, 2000.
Synopsis
Last time, Ash had begun his battle with Drake. Ash's Pikachu and Squirtle have already defeated Drake's Ditto and Onix (Pikachu beat Ditto and Squirtle beat Onix, respectively), now, he's got to beat Drake's Gengar. In a collision with Lapras's Ice Beam and Gengar's Night Shade, which Pokémon will remain standing? Will it be Drake's Gengar or Ash's Lapras?
After the explosion from the Ice Beam and Night Shade attacks, both Gengar and Lapras faint. Ash and Drake recall their Pokémon and a field change ensues. After field change, Drake calls out his Venusaur and Ash uses Tauros. Ash tries to start things off with a Fissure attack, but the attack didn't work, because the sand on the field absorbed the attack. Drake tells Venusaur to use Solarbeam. Ash tells Tauros to use Take Down, but Tauros is unable to hit Venusaur due to all the sand on the field. Ash tells Tauros to use Horn Attack. Tauros's Horn Attack sends Drake's Venusaur soaring into the air. As this happens, Venusaur releases its Solarbeam on Tauros, but Tauros isn't down, yet. Tauros, after dodging Venusaur's Vine Whip, hits Venusaur with Take Down, defeating Venusaur.
Drake recalls Venusaur and sends out his Electabuzz. Ash decides to let Tauros rest, and sends out his Bulbasaur. Drake tells Electabuzz to use Thunder, but Bulbasaur counters it with Razor Leaf. Drake tells Electabuzz to use Thunderpunch, and Ash has Bulbasaur use Tackle. After being hit by Electabuzz's Thunderpunch, Bulbasaur is defeated. Ash sends out Charizard. Charizard and Electabuzz fight it out with their best attacks. Charizard grabs Electabuzz by its neck and uses Seismic Toss. Electabuzz is defeated and now, Drake has only one Pokémon left. Luckily for Drake, he has saved the best for last. And so, Drake removes the Poké Ball from his necklace and sends out Dragonite.
Ash's Charizard seems unafraid of the legendary Dragon Pokémon. Charizard quickly uses a Flamethrower but Dragonite counters with Water Gun, dousing the flames and badly weakening Charizard.
Charizard then attempts to Fly upward, and Dragonite quickly follows. Charizard goes in for a Seismic Toss but Dragonite escapes from it! Dragonite uses an Ice Beam attack and Charizard is taken out of the fight!
Shocked at having his strongest Pokémon taken out of the fight, Ash hesitates for a brief moment before sending out Squirtle. Squirtle uses a Hydro Pump followed by a Bubble attack, hurting Dragonite. Drake, undaunted, orders Dragonite to use Thunder. This stuns Squirtle long enough for Dragonite to smash it with its tail knocking it out.
Out of nowhere, Team Rocket appears in their Balloon and tosses a net at Drake's Dragonite, trapping the dragon! After Team Rocket says their motto, Drake grows furious with Team Rocket interrupting the match and commands Dragonite to send the bad guys blasting off again.
With Team Rocket out of the way, the battle continues. Ash's Tauros is next to fight. Tauros tries to use Take Down, but Dragonite is strong enough to block the attack. Dragonite counters with a Thunder, knocking Tauros out.
Pikachu is Ash's last chance. The electric mouse hops into the stage ready to fight! Dragonite stares down Pikachu, unafraid but panting heavily (it is obviously worn down from defeating the rest of Ash's team). Pikachu starts things off with an Agility, but is knocked into the air by Dragonite. Dragonite gets ready to use Hyper Beam, but Pikachu uses its tail to dodge the attack! After Pikachu lands on Dragonite's head, Ash tells Pikachu to use Thunder and Pikachu does so. Dragonite and Pikachu are exhausted after the battle, and after a staring contest, Drake's Dragonite falls to the ground, defeated!
Ash has won the match and the coveted Orange League Winner's Trophy, and Ash, Pikachu, Squirtle, Tauros, Lapras, Bulbasaur and Charizard are recorded in the Orange League Hall of Fame!!
