The Macho Brace (Japanese: きょうせいギプス Coercive Cast) is a held item introduced in Generation III. It is an EV-enhancing item that doubles all effort values gained by the holder.

Games Description RSE A hold item that promotes growth, but it reduces Speed. FRLG An item to be held by a Pokémon. It promotes strong growth but lowers Speed while it is held. ColoXD A hold item that promotes growth, but reduces Speed. DPPtHGSS BWB2W2 An item to be held by a Pokémon. It is a stiff and heavy brace that promotes strong growth but lowers Speed. XYORAS SMUSUM An item to be held by a Pokémon. This stiff, heavy brace helps Pokémon grow strong but cuts Speed in battle.

In Under the Pledging Tree!, a set of Macho Braces was one of the items offered to Ash by a market vendor in Coumarine City after Ash had wondered out loud what presents he should buy for an upcoming festival.

• In The Path to the Pokémon League, A.J.'s Pokémon are shown to wear something called a "Strength Intensifier" which looks like a Macho Brace.
