Southeastern Islands (Japanese: なんとうしょとう Southeastern Islands) is a dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky which is unlocked after the player has reached Master ★★★ Rank.

Gameplay

Similarly to the other two dungeons before it, the player cannot bring any money and more than 8 items; any excess will be lost forever if not stored. Unlike those two dungeons, only the team leader is allowed, other Pokémon will be returned to Chimecho Assembly upon entering.

The jobs here are ranked ★4 or ★5 by default, depending on the floor.

All floors are large, with following amount of rooms:

  • 3-7 on floor 18
  • 3-8 on floors 1, 10 and 16
  • 3-9 on floors 2, 9, 17 and 24
  • 3-10 on floors 3, 8, 11, 15 and 23
  • 3-11 on floors 4, 7, 14, 19 and 22
  • 3-12 on floors 5, 6, 13, 20 and 21
  • 3-14 on floor 12

There's 2-5 items on floors 1 through 5, 3-6 on floors 6 through 11 and 4-7 on floors 12 through 25. There's also 2-5 items buried in the walls. The items have 8% chance to spawn sticky.

The amount of starting enemies varies per floor:

  • 2-4 on floor 1
  • 3-5 on floor 2
  • 3-6 on floor 3
  • 4-7 on floor 4
  • 4-8 on floor 5
  • 5-9 on floors 6 through 24

There's 20% chance that a Monster House on floors 6, 10, 18, 19 and 20 will spawn without items.

The IQ Booster activates every floor. The turn limit is 1000. There is heavy darkness in the dungeon. There is water on floors 2, 4, 8, 13, 16, 20, 23 and 25. Enemies in this dungeon have 330IQ on floors 1 through 16, 331 on floors 17 through 22 and 600 on floors 23 and 24, granting them access to many IQ skills. The player cannot be rescued if knocked out.

The weather is random on floors 4, 8, 12, 15 and 24.

At the end of dungeon there is a Deluxe Box containing either a stat-boosting item or team leader's exclusive item.

Pokémon encountered

Each time player enters a floor, only 14 of the following species that can be found on a given floor will be chosen. The unpicked Pokémon's spawn rate will be added to whichever picked Pokémon is next in the National Dex order, going back to the beginning if needed.
