I'm from Spain. When I first saw Clavell, I thought "he looks very catalan". And then I saw him disguised as Clive. Clive looks like a very obvious reference to famous spanish character Rodolfo Chikilicuatre, interpreted by catalan actor David Fernández who kinda looks like Clavell as well.
