Lanette (Japanese: マユミ Mayumi) is a computer technician and the younger sister of Brigette. She lives in a house on Route 114 near Fallarbor Town and is the maintainer of Hoenn's Pokémon Storage System. She first debuts in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire and reappears in Pokémon Emerald and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
In the games
As an expert in computing, Lanette has created the Pokémon Storage System in Hoenn. Unlike Bill's, who had created the original Pokémon Storage System in Kanto and Johto, Lanette's provides a user-friendly graphical interface and the ability to store more Pokémon and change the wallpaper of the Boxes in which Pokémon are stored. She is the younger sister of Bridgette. In an email in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, she is implied to know Bill, however Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire removes the mention of his name in the same email.
Lanette is first met at the Pokémon Center in Fallarbor Town, currently using the PC storage system. She apologizes for getting in the way and leaves to her house on Route 114. In order for her to appear at her house, the player must speak to her at the Pokémon Center. When arriving at her house, the player finds that it is greatly cluttered. She claims it gets that way when she is engrossed in her research. In return for keeping this a secret, she gives the player a SeedotROR or LotadSEAS doll.
In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the player can speak with Lanette to change the order of options in Lanette's PC, bringing "Organize Boxes" from the third option to the first and pushing "Deposit Pokémon" and "Withdraw Pokémon" to the second and third options, respectively. Speaking with her again can undo the change.
Quotes
Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald
- Fallarbor Pokémon Center
- "Oh, hello. You are? Okay, your name's <player>. I can see that you're a Trainer. So that means you use the Pokémon Storage System I developed. How I arrived at that conclusion is a simple deductive process. You spoke to me because you wanted to access something on this PC. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Lanette. Honestly, I'm glad to meet you—it's great you're using the Storage System. If you could, please visit me at home. My house is on Route 114."
- Lanette's house
- "Oh! <Player>! I'm sorry everything is so cluttered... When I get engrossed in research, things end up this way... This is embarrassing... Please keep this a secret in exchange for this."
- "May I offer advice about my Pokémon Storage System? You should organize your Boxes so you can tell which Pokémon are in them."

- Yes: "That's what I thought. How I arrived at that conclusion is a simple deductive process. …Just because you took the trouble to talk to me. Then please wait a while."
- "It's done. I set up "Organize Boxes" at the top of the menu in the PC. If you want to return it to normal, please talk to me again."

Pokémon Adventures
History
FireRed & LeafGreen arc
Lanette and her sister went to Kanto to upgrade its Pokémon Storage System and make it compatible with the one in Hoenn. This allowed Pokémon Trainers to move Pokémon between the two regions. She and Brigette were the ones to suggest a similarity in Castform and Deoxys's required conditions for changing forms. This information came in handy for Red; he and Mewtwo later fought Deoxys after it was caught by Giovanni.
Emerald arc
In Epilogue, she and her sister made a cameo appearance in one of the ships heading to the Battle Frontier.
Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arc
She and her sister was mentioned by Bill in Blastoise Transforms, where they had been investigating the origin of the Ruby and Sapphire to no avail.
