Spenser's Venusaur (Japanese: ウコンフシギバナ Ukon's Fushigibana), is one of four Pokémon owned by Palace Maven Spenser. It is voiced by Craig Blair in English and Kenta Miyake in Japanese.
Venusaur appeared in the episode Cutting the Ties that Bind, where it was first seen near a campfire next to Spenser, who was making a medicine for Pikachu, lost at the time. When introductions are made, Venusaur offers fruit with an extended vine to the hungry travelers.
The next day, Spenser and Venusaur accompany May, Max, Brock, and Scott on their search for Ash. They find him and Sceptile being attacked by Beedrill, and Venusaur assists them by using Sweet Scent to calm them down.
In the next episode, Ka Boom with a View, Venusaur is used as the second Pokémon in the battle after Shiftry. Ash sends out Heracross, who immediately sticks onto Venusaur's flower because of its addiction to sap. Venusaur flicks it off with a Vine Whip, and the battle begins. Heracross puts up a good fight, but is defeated by a powerful SolarBeam.
Ash sends out Swellow next, who manages to defeat Venusaur with an Aerial Ace, as it was weakened by its previous opponent.
