Furret tend to burrow deep in the ground of meadows or prairies. The deeper their burrow is, the more maze-like it becomes. The burrows are also very narrow, only the long bodies of Furret can enter inside.
Furret has a very slim build. When under attack, it can slickly squirm through narrow spaces and get away. In spite of its short limbs, this Pokémon is very nimble and fleet.

It is very similar in appearance to Linoone, fitting with the fact that the two are the evolved forms of the first Template:Type2 Pokémon encountered in their home regions.
Furret seemed to have a "mask" in Generation II but this later dropped.
Origin
Furret appears to be based on a ferret.
Name origin
Furret's name is a combination of ferret and furry. It is more similar to a ferret than Sentret. Its Japanese name is a combination of 大 ō, big, and 鼬 itachi, weasel, and may also include 尾 o, tail, and 立つ tatsu, stand, just like Sentret's Japanese name. The French for ferret happens to be Furet, yet the French corruption is actually Beech Marten; although the actual meaning implied by the corruption seems to be snoop.
