Electrike are small, green, dog-like Pokémon with yellow markings. They have a small pointed tail with two spikes on the side, giving the appearance of three tails. Their most distinctive feature is their large head crest.

Special abilities
The electricity found in Electrike's body is obtained from the friction that occurs when it runs at incredible speeds. It is stored in its fur, and can be released at the Pokémon's will. This allows it to use moves like Spark from the static electricity found in its fur, which also activates one of its abilities, Static. It can also learn to wield a Flamethrower attack.
Behavior
Electrike prefers movement and agility. It is affected by weather, letting out sparks whenever a storm approaches.
Electrike first appeared in Watt's with Wattson?. After Wattson was easily defeated by Ash Ketchum during the Gym Match, Wattson needed some time alone. During this, an Electrike came to comfort the Mauville CityGym Leader. Wattson decided to keep the electrical canine as one of his own Pokémon.
Electrike also appeared in The Electrike Company! under the ownership of Jaco. Though Jaco thought that Electrike wasn't that strong and wouldn't pass a test, Ash and friends helped Electrike control its power, resulting in it evolving into a Manectric.
Electrike stores electricity in its long body hair. This Pokémon stimulates its leg muscles with electric charges. These jolts of power give its legs explosive acceleration performance.
Electrike runs faster than the human eye can follow. The friction from running is converted into electricity, which is then stored in this Pokémon's fur.
It generates electricity using friction from the atmosphere. In seasons with especially arid air, its entire body blazes with violent showers of sparks.

The spikes on the back of Electrike's legs were not visible in its Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald back sprite.
Electrike shares the same species name with Jolteon. They are both known as Lightning Pokémon.
Origin
Electrike appears to be based on some kind of canine. It may also based on a demon of Japanese lore, the 雷獣 Raijū, an elemental lightning creature that can take on the shape of various mammals.
Name origin
Electrike's name may be a combination of electric and strike, or "Trike".. Its Japanese name, Rakurai, literally means 落雷, bolt of lightning.
