Glalie (Japanese: オニゴーリ Onigohri) is an Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves from Snorunt starting at level 42.
Biology
Physiology
Glalie resembles a human-like face with pointy ears and cold, blue eyes.It also seems to have teeth much like those of a Blue Whale. It looks like a soccer ball.
Gender differences
Glalie has none, but is said to be technically the male evolution of Snorunt, because of its appearance and the introduction of Froslass. However, there can still be female Glalie.
Special abilities
Glalie's abilities are similar to those of its pre-evolution, only stronger. In fact, Glalie's icy powers are now strong enough to wield Sheer Cold. Other new moves include Dark Pulse, Earthquake, Gyro Ball and Explosion. Since Glalie is a fully evolved Pokémon, it can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.
Behavior
Glalie tends to be mischievous. They can block paths in order to trap travelers that dwell into mountain tops or caves. Despite its physical disposition, Glalie are very loyal Pokémon. They are often misjudged by their unfriendly appearance.

Habitat
Glalie live in deep cold caves and sometimes high atop mountain caps hidden within dark crooks of mountains. They have also been found to sleep withing large Ice fissures created by moving glaciers.
Diet
- Main article: Pokémon food
Glalie is a predatory Pokémon. It captures its prey by literally freezing them in their tracks. They also may feed on the Babiri Berry.
In the anime
Ash's Snorunt evolved into Glalie in Rhapsody in Drew. It only stayed during Hoenn League. It is now at Professor Oak's lab.
A Glalie belonging to a poacher appeared in The Drifting Snorunt.

Trivia
- Despite being described as having a body made of rock it is not of the Template:Type2.
- Glalie is one of only four pure Template:Type2 Pokémon, along with Snorunt, Regice, and Glaceon.
- It is also the only pure Ice-type evolved from another pure Ice-type, as Regice does not evolve, and Glaceon evolves from the Template:Type2 Eevee.
- Although Glalie is clearly depicted as levitating in the anime and in the games, Glalie does not have the ability Levitate it shares this trait with the Magnemite evolution family.
Origin
Similar to Jynx, Glalie is based on human features, most likely on a cold, distant person or facial expression. It also looks somewhat similar to an ice hockey mask.
Name origin
Glalie's name is likely a combination of glacier and goalie. Its Japanese name is a combination of 鬼 oni, demon, and 氷 kōri, ice. It may also be a pun on onigiri, which it slightly resembles.
In other languages
- German: Firnontor - Based on firn.
- French: Oniglali - Combination of onigiri and glace (ice).
- Korean: 얼음귀신 Eol'eumgwisin - Literally "ice ghost".
