It all started when Ash, Misty, and Brock was at a picnic in the mountains. Suddenly Ash chokes on his food. Everyone paniced and tried to help him. Finally, Pikachu uses Thundershock and made Ash stop choking. Then, they heard a bell ringing. Everyone turns around and sees a Mareep. Ash checks on his Pokédex and see what a Mareep is. After that, the Mareep started to run towards them. The Mareep jumps on Pikachu.
Our heroes have stopped in a grassy meadow for a lunch break. Ash chokes on one of his sandwiches, Pikachu panics and zaps him which helps him swallow it. A friendly sheep-like Pokémon walks up to them and Brock says it's a Mareep, which have a mild disposition and can store electricity in their fleece.

Pikachu uses Thundershock and the wool of Mareep puffs up. The Mareep enjoyed it! The next thing they know more Mareep came! Pikachu attacks the flock of Mareep. It did the same thing; all of their wool puff up too. Then a girl came running after the Mareep. She tries to get the Mareep off of Pikachu. The one with the bell got off the flock. “MARY!” a voice called.(The name of the girl) Ash and the others turned around and saw Mary’s mom with her Raichu. Her mom orders Raichu to use Thunderbolt to gather the Mareep.
The Mareep charges at them and jumps on Pikachu, who lets out a blast of electricity and the Mareep's coat gets fluffier. Then a whole bunch of Mareep appear and cluster around Pikachu as well. Poor Pikachu is frightened and zaps them, causing them all to fluff up.

All of the Mareep danced around the static shock. Finally they all gathered around and went back home. Ash and his friends went with them. Mary’s mom apoligzed to them. Her mom was disappointed to Mary because she was day dreaming again instead of watching the Mareep. Mary’s mom explained that theres a festival in 5 days with contests, and Pokémon battles. Mary and her mom were going to enter I think the Mareep with the best wool.
A young girl comes running and tries to get the Mareep to back off but only her own Mareep listens to her. Then her mother comes along with a Raichu, whose Thunderbolt lures the Mareep away from Pikachu. The woman herds the Mareep back to their corral and tells the girl to return to the house.

Ash wanted to join the Pokémon battle contest but it was only for the people who lived in the village. Brock asks if he and the others could stay for a day or two to help out. Mary’s mom was very pleased. Everyone helped out in the field. Pikachu helped Raichu with the Mareep being seprated. Ash, Misty and Brock all brushed the Mareep. Mary did her own Mareep and her mom checked the Mareep. Finally the day ended. Mary was with her Mareep practicing its electric energy. Ash walked to her and asks what you were doing.
At their house, the woman apologizes for the trouble her daughter Mary caused. Mary says she only took her eyes off the Mareep for a second and they got away; her mother tells her she should be watching the Mareep and not dreaming about Pokémon battles. The mother explains that the Mareep in this valley have the best wool and every year there's a festival held in their honour with rides, shows and a Pokémon competition. Ash wants to enter but only people from the valley can enter. Mary wants to enter the competition this year but her mother says she's still too young.

Mary explained that they were practicing with Mareep’s electric energy. Mary told Ash that her Mareep’s name was Fluffy.
Brock offers to help prepare the Mareep for the festival. They all go out to the meadow where Raichu and Pikachu round up the Mareep so they can be brushed. Team Rocket watches them, and plan to catch the Mareep to sell the wool and get rich. James reminisces about his boyhood, all his clothes had been made of Mareep wool. Jessie and Meowth get jealous. At sunset, Ash find Mary and her Mareep "Fluffy" practicing Thundershock on a target. He complements her and she says she has been training Fluffy since it was little. She asks Ash if she can battle Fluffy against Pikachu because she hasn't battled before, and Ash accepts. However, Mary gets ahead quickly by using Fluffy's Tackle and Growl attacks.
She asks Ash a favor. Her favor was that she could battle. Ash asks Pikachu if its all right. Pikachu nodded. They battled. Mary had a great start, she used Tackle, then Growl. Pikachu’s attack went down. Next it used Sweet Star. Mary now orders Fluffy to use Thundershock. Ash alsos ordered Pikachu to use Thundershock. They both use it kind of long. Ash orders Pikachu to stop Thundershock. Mary kept on going, the horrible thing happened that made her Fluffy fall.

The battle stopped. Mary walks to Mareep to see what happened. Ash told her that it got exhausted. Mary asks Ash why did he stop Thundershock. He explained that Pikachu was getting worn out by electricity. It used most of its energy all day long by watching the Mareep. She admited that she cared about winning instead her Mareep. She apoligized to her Mareep. When nightfall came, dinner was served. Mary’s mom went to look for Mary. She found her talking to Fluffy. Mary explained that she learned from her mistake. Mary’s mom heard what Mary said. Later on a storm came up. Mary’s mom woke them up and help on something.
While Pikachu is disoriented from the Growl attack, Mary follows up with Speed Star and Thundershock. Pikachu counters with his own Thundershock, but Ash notices that Pikachu is getting worn out so tells him to stop using Thundershock and and dodge Fluffy's attack instead. Pressing her advantage, Mary tells Fluffy to turn up the power, but Fluffy collapses. Ash tells her that it used all its energy but would be fine after a good rest.

They all went outside and walked to the cliff. The flock of Mareep went to the edge of the cliff and stuck out their legs. The lighting storm hits the Mareep. All of the Mareep got their wool puffed up. Once the storm was over the Mareep’s wool was sparkling like never before. Team Rocket came and gathered the Mareep and Pikachu. Team Rocket’s balloon was decorated with shiny lights. Pikachu was put in the cage and attacked it. It was Shock proof like always.
Mary is upset, she had been so intent on winning she had forgotten about Fluffy. She thought that trainers had to be tough, but Ash tells her that it's not just attacks that are important, but a trainer also has to think about the condition of the Pokémon.

Their only hope was Raichu. Raichu uses Thunderbolt and hits the energy panel. Raichu tries to do with all its might. Team Rocket made fun of Raichu. Then Raichu’s power increased and makes the balloon on fire! The balloon fell and all the Mareep escaped. They also caught Pikachu. The kids ran to the Mareep and Pikachu. Now the battle starts. Mary’s mom orders Mareep to use Thundershock. Meowth found an extra panel and use it to protect themselves. Ash was trying to break the cage open.
Later Mary's mother makes dinner for everyone and goes upstairs to call Mary, and she overhears Mary talking to Fluffy. Mary apologizes to Fluffy for making it battle too hard. She realizes that she's not ready to battle in the festival yet, and promises to think about Fluffy's feelings first.

Fluffy jumps over the Mareep and tells Mary something. Mary understood and told her mom to use the Mareep energy on Fluffy. She had no other choice. All the Mareep used the energy on Fluffy. Fluffy’s fur grew enormous. Once the energy was stored Fluffy released it. Team Rocket was in a huge shock. The cage finally opened. Ash ordered Pikachu to use Thunderbolt and that blew Team Rocket to the sky! Everyone cheered for their victory. The next day, Mary’s mom gave Mary a Pokéball. Her mom finally lets Mary to battle. At the end Mary was at the stadium ready to battle.
During the night a storm approaches. Mary's mom wakes everyone up and they take the Mareep out to a cliff. She explains that electrical storms charge up the Mareep and make their fleece look good for the festival. They take cover behind some rocks and watch as lightning strikes and the Mareep's coats get fluffed up and sparkling.

Suddenly a net comes down and captures all the Mareep! Team Rocket hauls all the Mareep away with their balloon. Ash sends Pikachu but Pikachu gets captured by a robot arm. Mary's mother orders her Raichu to use Thunderbolt but the electricity is absorbed by a panel which causes the balloon to light up.

The Raichu tries harder and the panel is short-circuited, the balloon catches fire and crashes. The Mareep escape and catch Pikachu who's in a cage. The Raichu collapses, exhausted. Team Rocket sends out Arbok and Weezing, but Mary's mom tells the Mareep to stop them with a Growl attack. Then she orders them to Thundershock but Meowth uses the panel to reflect the electricity back.

Ash realizes that the Mareep need more power but he's having a hard time breaking Pikachu out of the cage. Fluffy jumps in front of the other Mareep, and Mary asks her mother to have all the Mareep concentrate their energy on Fluffy. Fluffy becomes supercharged and deals Team Rocket a major wallop. Ash finally breaks open the cage and Pikachu sends Team Rocket blasting off.

In the morning, Mary's mom gives her a PokéBall and says she's ready to use Fluffy in the festival. At the competition, everyone cheers from the stands as Mary releases Fluffy for her first battle.
