Route 221 is a small route that leads to Pal Park, where Trainers can import their Pokémon from the GBA installments of the Pokémon franchise. It is the only route in Sinnoh that can be accessed via flying without landing at a Pokémon Center.
Route description
As the player surfs here from Route 220, he/she will have 2 paths to Pal Park. On the north path, there is no grass and only one trainer, a collector. This is the easiest path to Pal Park. North of the path, a small maze of grass and trees leads to an old man who gives items every day (see below). On the south path, there is more grass, more trainers, and a berry patch. Note that in order to get to Pal Park, the player must fight at least one trainer. Two men standing on the entrace will block you from getting into Pal Park until Professor Oak has the player to Pal Park.
Level Item House
In the house on this route, an elderly man will tell you a random number between 1 and 100 once every day. He will give the player a Black Belt, Expert Belt or Focus Sash if shown a Pokémon of the level he called out. Note: The first time the player shows to correct level Pokémon, he will give a Black Belt, the second time an Expert Belt, and the third time a Focus Sash. The cycle repeats.
Items
To the north of Route 221, there is a house with an elderly man inside. He will say a random number between 1 and 100 every day and if he is shown a Pokémon of that level, he will give one of the following items:
