Trivia
- Agatha makes her anime debut, meaning that all the members of the original Elite Four of Kanto from Generation I have appeared in the series. This also makes Ash and Pikachu the only known characters to have met all of them.
- Agatha is in charge of the Viridian Gym until a new Leader can be found. Giovanni's loss of status is not explained.
- Jessie talks about Antarctica, the place where their next assignment is located. She doesn't appear to know that it is the coldest, driest, and windiest of all seven continents.
- This is the last episode to feature Ted Lewis as Giovanni (until The Thief That Keeps on Thieving!), Andi Whaley as Cassidy, and Eric Stuart as Butch.
- When James says "Castle in the Sky," he makes a reference to the Studio Ghibli film.
- The English title of this episode is a pun on the term "the dream team".
Pokémon Trainer's Choice
- Question: If Arcanine fought Kirlia, who would have the advantage?
- Choices: Arcanine, Kirlia
- Answer: Ok, Trainers! If you chose Arcanine, you were right!
Errors
- In several scenes where Butch and Cassidy appeared, the white part of their uniforms that cover their necks disappear.
