The Embedded Tower (Japanese: うずもれのとう Hidden Tower) is an area located on Route 47 in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. It is unlocked when the player is in possession of the Blue Orb in HeartGold or the Red Orb in SoulSilver. It is where Groudon (SoulSilver), Kyogre (HeartGold), and Rayquaza rest. If a Kyogre and a Groudon which are caught at the Embedded Tower are both shown to Professor Oak, he will award the player with the Jade Orb to awaken Rayquaza. Groudon and Kyogre from any other location (i.e. from the Generation III-games) will not count towards getting the Jade Orb.
The Embedded Tower is home to the weather trio, which consists of Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. In HeartGold, Kyogre appears when the player receives the Blue Orb from Mr. Pokémon. In SoulSilver, Groudon appears after the player obtains the Red Orb from Mr. Pokémon. Rayquaza will appear when the player shows Kyogre and Groudon (to obtain both, trade with another person) to Professor Oak in Pallet Town and he will give the player the Jade Orb so the player can find Rayquaza. All will appear in the same place.
A long time before the events of HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Embedded Tower was a enormously tall tower built by people who came from the Hoenn region. Its peak was said to touch the sky. However, as seen in the games, part of it was embedded into the cliffs of Route 47, and also ran deep underground into the ocean, in that way connecting the land, the sea, and the sky.
