Blackthorn City (Japanese: ? Fusube City) is located in the northeast Johto. It's motto is "A Quiet Mountan Retreat".
A clan of masters of Dragon-type Pokémon have lived in the city for generations. Many of the Dragon-type trainers worldwide come from Blackthorn City.
Blackthorn City is the hometown of Lance.
The only place of real note is the Move Deleter that lives in the city.
Behind the Gym, there is the Dragon's Den. The Dragon's Den is an a cavern with an underground lake that contains a shrine to Dragon Pokémon, as well as the elders of the Dragon clan.
Lance's cousin and granddaughter of the Dragon clan's Master, Clair is the Gym Leader of Blackthorn. She specializes in Dragon-type Pokémon.
The Ice Path is the only way into the town from the north. Route 45 is also reachable from the south of Blackthorn, but the steep mountain path means it can be used as an exit only.
