Takeshi Shudō (Japanese: 首藤剛志) was the chief writer for the original series of the Pokémon anime. He has also written novelizations of the anime. He also created the Pokémon Lugia.

In late October of 2010, he was hospitalized when he was found collapsed at a train station in Nara. He was later pronounced dead at the age of 61.
