Dent's Yanappu (Japanese: デントのヤナップ Dent's Yanappu) is the only known Pokémon owned by Dent. It first appeared in BW005.

Dent and Yanappu

Yanappu is Dent's best and only known Pokémon; it made its first appearance in BW005 where he showed it to Ash who scanned it on his Pokédex before battling.

Yanappu was the third and final Pokémon Ash faced in his Gym battle, where it went up against Ash's Mijumaru. However, Yanappu dodged all of its attacks with ease and hit Mijumaru quite hard with Bullet Seed and Bite. After Mijumaru finally hit a midair Yanappu with Water Gun, Yanappu started charging SolarBeam, which petrified Mijumaru with fear. It appeared again in the very next episode where it was defeated by Mijumaru, earning Ash his first badge in the Isshu region. At the end of the episode, Dent takes Yanappu with him while he travels with Ash and Iris.

In BW009, Dent used Yanappu in a battle against Iris's Kibago to help Kibago gain some battle experience. Even though Yanappu significantly lowered its own attack power, Kibago was thrown off by its attacks. The battle ended when Kibago used Dragon Rage which caused an explosion that took Yanappu, as well as everyone else, by surprise.
