Mamanbou is a pink fish Pokémon with darker pink markings on its body and fins. Its main body is heart-shaped. It has large dorsal and ventral fins, each divided into four sections and tipped with a paler pink. It seems to lack a proper tail fin. Its eyes are round with a mark that appears to be an eyelash extending up and back toward the rest of the body. Below the eyes are small dark pink marks.

Special abilities
Mamanbou is capable of healing Pokémon.
Behavior
If Mamanbou finds an injured Pokémon floating at sea, Mamanbou will heal the Pokémon's wounds and carry it back to shore.
Due to their similar appearance, Mamanbou was originally thought to be an evolution of Luvdisc.
Mamanbou has the highest base HP of all non-evolving Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It is behind Wailord by only 10 points for the highest base HP of all Template:Type2 Pokémon.
Additionally, it has the fifth highest base HP stat overall, behind Blissey, Chansey, Wobbuffet, and Wailord, in that order.
Origin
Mamanbou appears to be a combination of an ocean sunfish and a heart. Due to its hand-like fins and heart shaped body, it may have been inspired by the Claddagh ring. It's ability to heal other Pokémon may be inspired by Doctor fish.
Name origin
Mamanbou could be derived from 翻車魚 manbō, the Japanese word for the ocean sunfish, and "Mama", referencing its status as the Nursing Pokémon.
