Trivia
- Axew was first seen on concept art from the Best Wishes series along with Janovy, Futachimaru, and Woobat.
Origin
Axew's tusks are similar in appearance to Scutosaurid's or possibly Ceratopsid's cheekbone tusks. Its crest may be based on a Hadrosaurid's, more specifically Saurolophid's, or possibly a Corytophanid's, possibly the Plumed basilisk's.
Name origin
Axew is a combination of the words "axe" and "chew" or "hew". Kibago may be derived from 牙 kiba meaning tusk, and 顎 ago meaning jaw.
