(Japanese: あまのじゃく Antagonist) is an ability introduced in Generation V. Five Pokémon have this ability, all only in the Dream World.

Effect

In battle

All moves or abilities that would normally increase a stat will decrease it, and ones that would normally decrease a stat will increase it. This also applies to self-inflicted moves, such as Charge Beam, Close Combat and Leaf Storm.

Outside of battle

Antagonist has no effect outside of battle.

Trivia

• Shuckle and Jalorda are the only Pokémon who has both this ability and a move that will lower one of their stats (Shuckle has Curse, which would boost it's speed; and Jalorda has Leaf storm.) However, Jalorda is the only Pokémon who can unconditionally boost one of its stats via Antagonist without getting a stat loss, too.
