Lanturn (Japanese : ランターン Lantern ) is a dual-type Water /Electric Pokémon.
It evolves from Chinchou starting at level 27.
Biology
Physiology
Lanturn are large blue fish-like Pokémon with a pair of small blue fins. They have a yellow "mask" over their eyes, which have red irises. The end of the bottom of their oddly-shaped tail is also yellow. Lanturn's yellow orbs come from a modification of its dorsal fin. These orbs contain a colony of bacteria which creates a chemical reaction that generates electricity in a similar fashion to that of a battery, and such electricity can be freely manipulated by Lanturn.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Lanturn can use light to illuminate its surroundings and blind prey . Lanturn are capable of learning many Electric and Water type attacks, including some status moves like Thunder Wave , Confuse Ray , and Toxic .
Like most fully evolved Pokémon, Lanturn can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact .
Behavior
Lanturn uses the bright part of its body, which changed from a dorsal fin, to lure fish prey. It then blinds the prey with an intense burst of light, swallowing the immobilized prey in a single gulp.
