Trivia
Requiring 38 levels to evolve from Axew and just 10 more to evolve into Haxorus, Fraxure has the distinction of having the lowest relative second-stage evolution requirement, at just 26%.
Origin
Fraxure's tusks are similar in appearance to Scutosaurid 's or possibly Ceratopsid 's cheekbone tusks and are also similar to pickaxe blades. Its crest may be based on a Hadrosaurid 's, more specifically Saurolophid 's, or possibly a Corytophanid 's, possibly the Plumed basilisk 's.
Name origin
Fraxure is a corruption of the word "fracture." Its Japanese name may come from 斧 ono "axe" and the Latin suffix "don" meaning tooth.
