Route 3
Walking on Route 3, the player will meet many new Pokemon. This area is a great place to level up and train for the second gym, so take a few minutes, catch a couple pokemon, and train them up. New Pokemon in the grass include Blitzle and Pidove, both of which could be very useful in the future battles.
Pokemon Daycare
In the surrounding area of the daycare, there are many pokemon trainers to fight. In a first for the series, their is a daycare that heals the Pokemon and a building that allows the drop-off of pokemon needed to be raised, like in other games. The player fights their first double battle here, as well as fights Cheren back on the route.
Team Plasma shows up again
Team Plasma is seen running to the west after the player battles Cheren. They have taken a little girl's pokemon. It is your job to stop them! After beating them, catch Woobat, Roggenrola, and if lucky, Drilbur. Then head outside and south to Nacrene City.
Nacrene City
As you approach Nacrene City, Cheren meets up with you and shows you around the city. he also gives vital information about the gym leader, so pay attention. If need be, go to the outer area of pinwheel forest and get a fighting type. Otherwise, head to the Nacrene gym.
N
As you show up to the gym, N appears again. He says some stuff, then battles you. After beating N, go into the gym.
Nacrene Gym
As you walk into the gym, a man talks to you. His name is Hawes. He is the assistant director, and is married to the gym leader, Lenora. After he speaks to you, walk up the stairs and into the gym. The gym specializes in Normal types, so plan accordingly. To advance in the gym, requires several battles and use of the books in the library shelves. When you get to Lenora, be careful. Make sure you have the fighting types at the fore and get ready for a tough fight.
