Trivia

  • In each region, there is a two-stage Template:Type2 Pokémon encountered early in the region. Patrat is the Unova variation on this theme, while Rattata, Sentret, Zigzagoon, and Bidoof are those of other regions.
  • Patrat is the only Pokémon that has a base stat total of 255.
    • It also has the lowest base stat of all the Generation V Pokémon.

Origin

It appears to be based on a prairie dog, chipmunk or meerkat.

Name origin

Patrat is a combination of the words patrol and rat. It may also be a pun on pack rats. Minezumi is derived from 見 mi, looking, and either 木鼠 kinezumi, squirrel, or 鼠 nezumi, mouse.
