Trivia
Origin
Chimecho is based on a Japanese furin wind chime .
Name origin
Chimecho's name is a combination of chime and echo . On the other hand, considering Chimecho's association with feelings, the species’ name may be derived from kimochi (気持ち), a Japanese word meaning “feeling”, “mood”, or “sensation”. In fact, the species’ name may result from an alteration of the syllables and phonetic values of this term (from ki-mo-chi to chi-mi-ko ). Chirean is based on ちりん chirin , the Japanese onomatopoeia of a chime and 風鈴 fūrin , wind chime.
