Dr. Akihabara

Dr. Akihabara (Japanese: アキハバラ博士 Dr. Akihabara) is a character of the day from the episode Computer Soldier Porygon, but because the seizures caused by the episode caused it to be banned worldwide, he has never appeared in the anime outside Japan. His last name is the name of a Japanese district famous for its electronics stores. His Japanese voice actor is 島田敏 Bin Shimada.

Although not much is known about this mysterious man, it is revealed that he created the Pokémon Transfer System. He has blue hair and wears glasses with strange patterns on the lenses. He is also a little bit eccentric and is thought to be slightly insane. He has created two Porygon, one prototype and one full model. At the end of the seizure-inducing explosion, Akibahara's house is destroyed, along with his software, disabling him from entering the computer world.

This Porygon prototype, called "Porygon Zero", was stolen from Akihabara by Team Rocket that used it after entering the computer world, where they could steal Poké Balls during their transportation from Pokémon Center to another. As Porygon was able to change its size in there, they could ride on it. Team Rocket also used Porygon Zero to fight against the other Porygon that Akihabara had loaned to Ash and his friends, and eventually lost. When Team Rocket was escaping from the vaccine program activated by Nurse Joy, it got hit by vaccine's powerful cannon, and was knocked out. After Team Rocket got saved by Ash and co. and was taken out of the computer world, they left Porygon behind and ran away.

Porygon Zero's only known move is Sharpen.

Akihabara loaned his other Porygon for Ash and his friends when they went to the computer world in order to find and stop Team Rocket and return Akihabara's stolen Porygon prototype. This Porygon battled against the stolen Porygon and won. Ash and friends used this Porygon to ride in the computer world and also saved Team Rocket from being left behind. After they all had gotten out of the computer world, both Porygon were returned to Akihabara.

Porygon's known moves are Conversion, Tackle and Sharpen.
