Help
Hello, I am new to Bulbapedia, I created a page called Japanese preview, may you please check it out and tell me what you think. If you want you can change or edit it to make it more understanding. pika..pika.... :)
Hey. Saw the message you left on my page. I understand; it just didn't say anything about tests/"studies" being done to prove that. An0nymous 02:18, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi. What do you want me to do differently with the new articles that I create? I read the manuel of style and it didn't get what I should to to make articles that you don't have to clean up. Please tell me. Carnivine 2 March 2007
That friggin' move war
- Hello, I am a new user (15 Feb) and I noticed that the dub name of Masago town was Sandgem Town, which I didn't see a source so i moved the page. After a little "move war" a user named Maxim left a note on my user talk.
Idiots! (==)
Because of your stupid move war you completely messed up Sandgem/Masago Redirect! It IS mentioned in Episode. So, there ARE SOURCES! The name is O.F.F.I.C.I.A.L! And stop fighting --Maxim 19:09, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- After I removed it because I thought it was disresceptful, he left another one
Another fool with oversized ego. You were FIGHTING. Edit fight = VANDALISM! So, I have to respect vandalisms? Since when? This is a wiki. This is not place for fighting. If you want to fight, marry each other. --Maxim 19:32, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
The user is being rude and disresceptful. May you please talk to Maxim and please remove my mistake..
Who cares you're a newbie, Johanpika. The one who is guilty is YOU because you started the edit war which is considered as vandalism. I'm sick of your oversized ego. STFU, man! The one who should be permablocked is YOU! --Maxim 19:45, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hey! Keep that sort of fighting to your own talk pages. Either kiss and make up or get off my talk page. --Pie ~♪♫ 19:52, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Why haven't we done something about Maxim yet? --FabuVinny 23:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Very funny. --Maxim 21:07, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Lets make it five years, then. Carnivine
Problem
It is being caused by a bug in my computer. I'm working to fix it. Carnivine
- I'm making some progress, however, could you help me and put a "u" on the "Pikach" on my page. My computor won't let me. I can't get the bug out until tommorrow because I need a password to do it and I won't see the person who has it until then. Carnivine
- I got it fixed. I can type Pikachu now. Carnivine
Question
How to you revert changes? Carnivine
- Editors have a rollback link. I think all users have undo links, though. --Pie ~♪♫ 04:02, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Carnivine
How do I figure out how many contributions I have? Must I count them all? Carnivine
- Zhen Lin has a database scanning tool for his "Top Contributors" list but you can make at least an estimate by making use of the number of edits displayed on a page to simplify the counting. For the record, you have made 167 edits. (50+50+50+17) --FabuVinny 23:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
How do I upload a new image? Carnivine
The Card Game project
Hey, I was wondering a few things about the Pokémon Trading Card Game project. See, I don't really think we need to sort the cards in the category by the card number. I've been doing my best to avoid them, you see. See, I've been thinking through the aspects of the project for a while now, and I think that it would be a lot easier to make it work if we avoided using the numbers. I believe I have spoken on this before, but using the numbers would make it a lot harder to keep everything from English and Japanese together.
On another note, thanks for making all of those categories for Pokémon in the TCG. Actually, I was thinking of another idea to further categorize them by Pokémon and by name (for such cards as Blaine's Vulpix), but I thought that it might make too many tiny categories. What do you think about categories for specifically named Pokémon, Trainer Cards, and Energy Cards? I'm thinking of having Trainer Cards and the like have separate articles for the Trainer Card's name and prints of the card. So there would be, say, "Bill (TCG)" and "Bill (Base Set)." If a card said something along the lines of "Search your deck for a card named Bill," it would link to "Bill (TCG)," which would list all cards with that name. What do you think of all of this? -Happy Mask Man 02:26, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- We can find alternatives for the Japanese-only cards, sort them into categories with *'s instead of numbers. But overall, given all the other naming and sorting options, the number system is the best one I've seen that makes any sense and is closest to being universal. I really don't think many people distinguish these cards using the levels written on them, you know? So why should we?
- I think that might make the categories too small, yes. As far as trainer cards... that's a difficult one. On one hand, we should disambig between any cards with the same name and different text... but not reprints of the same card, like every card in Base Set 2... so I do think we should have trainer cards noted by set. But at the same time, if there's only one version of a card ever - there's no reason for a disambig. Like, for example, if besides reprints there's only one Bill (Base Set), Bill (TCG) should just redirect to that.
- Most other people have given up on trying to organize the TCG articles - I believe Zhen confirmed to me that he has over AIM - and I'm one of the few who's still trying to work this out regardless of the giant headache it's giving me. So sorry if I get a little snippy about this, but this really is the most annoying section of the Bulbapedia to organize ever. --Pie ~♪♫ 03:16, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Eh, I just prefer the idea of having two set lists in the article on the set and having the category for the set just be organized by alphabetical order. Besides, people usually don't refer to cards by anything but the card's name and set anyway. See, between δ Delta Species Pokémon and the new Pokémon LV.X in the DP series, it seems more convenient to use levels and other universal identification in a particular series. Also, Pokémon Card GB referred to different cards of a Pokémon by their levels.
- Really, I have about all of the TCG organization planned out. Level for original series, e-card ID for e-card series. In the advance series, the only cards that have the same name in the same set are cards that were from Japanese decks that were merged into an English set. Oh, and things like Unown. The DP series brings back levels and introduces a new game mechanic based on them. This organization method is based on universalness. It also helps to better organize cards that switch around from set to set from Japanese to English. As for Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection, since they're total reprint sets, I'm not planning on having separate articles for cards reprinted there. I do plan on having articles for other reprints of cards though. Things a reprint of Potion in some set would get a separate article.
- The only thing that I haven't been completely sure of is making separate articles for Trainer cards that only get one print as the main article for the card and for its print in a set. I guess that if there's only one print, it could be a redirect... Then again, things like TM06 get their own articles... I'm not too sure on this issue. I have most everything else planned out. I guess it's just a matter of getting everyone to agree now. I really believe that this project can work. -Happy Mask Man 04:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Fine. Whatever. I really don't even care anymore. I've been working my butt off trying to find some way to organize that section - I should be glad someone else is taking it on. --Pie ~♪♫ 04:34, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Now that I am recategorizing articles, what should I do with the English number for cards that have holo and non-holo versions? -Happy Mask Man 05:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- If the non-holographic versions of cards all have to have separate articles now, could the holographic version at least keep the default name and have the non-holographic version say "Non-holo" in the title? -Happy Mask Man 21:31, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

KillerCRS
Excuse me admin Pie, but while looking on the block log I noticed that KillerCRS had been blocked one month ago for the same offense he committed today. I suggest perhaps a permablock. Carnivine
Made a mess, help me fix it...
Hi, I left the same message on Fabu-Vinny's page several days ago but apparently he hasn't seen it yet...
I'm really sorry, but it seems I missed a rule and made a tiny mess... I created an article about the song "You & Me & Pokémon", but the 2 "&"s are creating some problems. Can you change it to "and"s please? Thanks!--ElectAbuzzzz 09:33, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Heads up
Dragonite keeps moving pages around, and I'm not sure if they knows what they're doing or not. He moved Blue (game) to Kinkajou for some reason, and now he moved Leaf (game) to Green (game). Just wanted to make you aware. --PAK Man 03:03, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the help
Thanks for pointing out that the extenal link doesn't need to go there, thanks for the help,

That error in Takeshi's Paradise might not be so bad. It might be retconning but another Seel has been seen at the Cerulean Gym in Chronicles: [1] --FabuVinny T-C-S 11:19, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah. I figure that there's any number of explanations for it - different Seel, Brock forgot, Brock thought Seel looked better with them than Dewgong - but from the most literal view of it, it's an error. ^^o --Pie ~♪♫ 14:25, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
hey
I don't know I am new but I tought the game should get some light
ok
never mind i get it i shall not do it again
é
Hi! I guess someone as technical as you already knows this, but here's a shorter shortcut to "é" you can recommend to other editors: ALT+130 (maybe yours is more correct because of the amount of digits and all that... :S). Also I wonder if there's a way to insert them in Bulbapedia edit fields via a button combination of ALT and some other letter for example. I notice the Manual of Style has a section about "é and other characters", but it doesn't advise how to input them (character palette, ALT, etc.). --Johans 17:49, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Huh, no, I didn't know that. Well, 0233 is sort of already ingrained into my memory.. ^^o As for an even shorter shortcut, if anyone would know, it'd be Zhen, so bug him about the idea. --Pie ~♪♫ 18:40, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

...KYAPISU?
Hey. o.o
What does "KYAPISU" mean, exactly? I have absolutely no idea, but *his* use of it is really starting to piss me off.--Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 19:15, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I tend to, when upset and explaining policy and the like to someone, end with "Capisce?", which is Italian for "Understand?" and used in slang. From what I understand, he's gotten into the habit of using it as well, but in Japanese romanization sort of spelling. I don't know if it's a way of mocking me or just coincidence. But it bugs me a lot. --Pie ~♪♫ 19:42, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia Content
I just selected Recent Changes and saw this: [2]. It was I who suggested this; was I in error? Since Wikiproject Pokemon over there IS trying to encourage its members (including me) to use any info from there to fix up articles here... -WarthogDemon 19:47, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Bulbapedia and Wikipedia have incompatible licenses, I'm afraid. And different styles, if you didn't notice; I'm rather particular about standardizing the headings in the Pokémon species articles. I believe you can, however, incorporate the information if you rework it so the text isn't the same, matches Bulbapedia's styles and standards, etc. We welcome the contribution, it's just the importing that's trouble.
- Though... what is going on there that prompted this? --Pie ~♪♫ 19:54, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- They do?!? Wow; I thought we did have compatible licences . . . basically there has been several months of discussion to a consensus that we merge all the pokemon to lists (20 per article). This has caused an alarm to some pokemon fans complaining about how there's a lack of content now. So we've directed them here. I'll tell them on the Project's talk page that if they get the content from Wikipedia's articles, they'll have to rework them and not just copy/paste. Sorry for the miscommunication, and don't worry; I doubt you'll have a massive flood of copy/pasters just yet. :p Cheers! -WarthogDemon 19:59, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Christ, really? That sucks, and doesn't sound like the best solution. But yes, unfortunately, Bulbapedia has a different license than Wikipedia, and it does create some problems... --Pie ~♪♫ 20:09, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Clarifying: the reason we're doing the merges in the first place is to make the Pokemon pages better organized, as some of the articles were not conforming to Wikipedia's policies and were litered with fan/gameplay info to the point where that was most of what an article was. -WarthogDemon 20:01, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I see. I'm aware that the Pokémon articles have been the subject of debate for a while now... --Pie ~♪♫ 20:09, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- So it has. I hope we haven't accidentally allowed mayhem to run amok here. Anyway if you want the full stories, here's the page: [3]. Yes it's big so feel free to skim. :p I myself didn't like the merges at first, but after reading the reasoning behind it all I found myself agreeing. Plus, it's given me a reason to make my inactive account active here. I've been meaning to use this for months... anyways hope I can become a good contributing member here. :) -WarthogDemon 20:12, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- ... wow. Uh. Well, yes, everyone's welcome here, and the information is definitely so, even if it may take a while to incorporate into the articles. We could use the additional support, in fact.
- At least now I know my time as the acting editor in chief while Zhen Lin's away won't be boring... --Pie ~♪♫ 20:21, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I was actually thinking it was a bad idea at first too, though I can see now why they decided to do so and support it. Plus, each Pokemon do have descriptions about it like [4]. (The lists look a bit like pokedex pages now if you ask me.) And some articles are being considered for staying. Pikachu, so far, is a definite keeper. -WarthogDemon 20:35, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
