The Hometown of the Earth is a town first mentioned in Pokémon The Movie: White—Victini and Zekrom and Pokémon The Movie: Black—Victini and Reshiram. Best known for being the location where the Earth's Sword originally was, this town hasn't been in existence for approximately one thousand years. Efforts to revive the town happen throughout both versions of M14.

History

As Manus explains to Ash in M14, the People of the Earth used to live a prosperous life, using a power called the "Dragon Pulse" to continue to enrich their land. The town also was the original location for the Earth's Sword.

But when King of the People of the Vale's twin sons began a war over, the prosperity of the area quickly ended. The Hero of Truth controlled Reshiram, and the Hero of Ideals controlled Zekrom. The fighting between the two twins disrupted the Dragon Pulse, causing the once prosperous power to become a detriment instead.

The king went to Victini for help, who temporarily lent the king its powers. The king used these powers to first create "Protecting Pillars" to attempt to control Victini's enormous powers. He then used the powers to fly the Earth's Sword with all of its townspeople to the current location of Eindoak Town. While this did stop the flow of the Dragon's Pulse, it also led to the king's death, meaning that the Protecting Pillars were never destroyed. Reshiram and Zekrom were exhausted from their battling, turning into "Dragon Stones" that would be hid under the castle by the two twins.

In the Movie

When Victini accidentally gives its powers to Damon, the castle ascends into the sky and returns to its original location. The Dragon Pulse begins to restore the town. However, the movement of the Earth Sword causes the Dragon Pulse to go back to its destructive ways, only to be stopped when Victini destroys the Protecting Pillars once and for all, thus saving not only the town, but the entire Pokémon World.

In the future

While it is never explicitly stated what the future of the Hometown of the Earth will be, it can be implied that reconstruction of the area is possible after M14. Damon and Juanita begin reconstruction on the area, and during the credits of M14, a single sprout comes up from the area where the Hometown of the Earth used to be.
