I don't understand why did you delete Polish names of locations from [[List of locations in other languages|this]] list. Despite of fact that they are from anime they are still Polish names. |
Revision as of 18:37, 31 July 2007
Sorry.
I'm the one who deleted the European names. This is probably a pathetic excuse, but the reason for it is that I wanted to sort of "clean" the article. I would change the name of the article to "Rival", but that would prove to be too controversial. I kind of have obsessive-compulsive behavior, and try to make everything Japanese.
I'm sorry. I sure can ramble. Do you at least know what I'm talking about, just a little?
P.S. I have no problem with the European names.
Correct reverting of a vandalized move
- If a page was moved by a vandal, the right way to revert the move is by going to the Move Log, finding the move on the list there, and clicking on the revert button.
- The correct capitalization of pages such as the one you moved is Casual dude, not Casual Dude.

Seagallop
Seagallop may be seen traveling east from Vermillion City to any one of the Sevii Islands, but logic dictates that it is actually going south -- going by the map from which it is clear that east to Vermillion City is the rest of Kanto. The reason the game designers chose to make it appear that the ferry was going south was not unlike their reason for rotating the Hoenn map -- the Game Boy Advance has a horizontal-oriented screen. Unown Lord
I have better prooves of Seviis Location. 1. In the official FR/LG Kanto map you can see a Seagallop. It's on the water near Fuchsia City. And it is APPARENTLY heading east. 2. On the Orange Islands map you can see the whole Kanto & Johto mainland. And Orange Islands are DIRECT south of Kanto. There's nothing either north or south of them. These are canon prooves. Not fanon speculation like yours. --Maxim 15:38, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Kanto
Sevii Islands
New Island
Orange Islands --Greengiant 17:19, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
But this map doesn't really show the location of these islands. They're in separated "boxes" and separated from rest of map (they aren't shown south of Kanto on this map, these are SEPARATE MAPS!). So, this map does not suggest anything --Maxim 17:42, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Gen III Korean names
You stated on this talk page that you have the Korean names of the 3rd Gen Pokémon. Where did you find them? I'd at least like to add the hangul to the list. MK 10:49, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Sorry. I don't have all names anymore. I lost the adress of this site and I can't find it anymore. I have some names from my Korean Pokespecial Scans but they aren't all 3 Gen Names. Just around 20. Sorry again --Maxim 12:17, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind. I found that site This page --Again Maxim 12:23, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Er-hem.
Try not to go completely into a rage when someone messes up a page, all right? Cool your jets, man. Caps lock is not cruise control for cool here.
Besides, although it's not canon, the stories are deeply-ingrained in some parts of the fandom. We have shipping articles, we just have to decide whether or not doujinshi has a place on Bulbapedia. It does not, of course, have a place on the game characters' pages, which you're most certainly right about.
So, really, calmly talk to people on their talk pages, okay? And don't call people annoying on their talk pages. It's really bad form, we're not trying to scare people away here. Heck, by your comments on Animehro's page, you're essentially proving that you're far from ready to ascend to the level of sysop. The guy at least used proper grammar and spelling, unlike other people I've seen. Just be cool about it, state it without accusation. Bulbapedia is a wiki; everything can be reverted. --TTEchidna 15:16, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Okay, Okay. I know. I'm overreacting. I should better work on developing articles, not yelling at people. You're right. --Maxim 15:21, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Just don't beat yourself up over it, either, okay? Change, but don't kill yourself doing so, like turning a car at 100 mph. --TTEchidna 02:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
And don't else, either. --TTEchidna 02:29, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I Know!
I was the one trying to change it to Sandgem Town, you idiot! Carnivine
I know you were. I at least didn't fight! The Masago/Sandgem is COMPLETELY MESSED UP NOW. You completely messed up the redirect. I don't know how to do it back to normal. --Maxim 19:10, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Pie
I left a note on the Admin: Pie user talk for you being disresceptful to me.
I'm sick of your oversized ego, man! STFU! --Maxim 19:46, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Oy vey
You really do need to learn to mellow out. --Pie ~♪♫ 19:47, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
I want to end this. But I HATE vandals. He wants respect from me. Stupid vandals are not worthy my respect. --Maxim 19:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- And those who foam at the mouth over things like this aren't worthy of mine. Like the Echidna said - "Bulbapedia is a wiki; everything can be reverted." So calm down. --Pie ~♪♫ 19:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- End of discussion. This became really boring. Well, *goes finding some pages to develop* Farewell. --Maxim 19:58, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Relax
You have been yelling at everyone lately. Please just calm down. I'm not questioning you, simply asking you to stop being so rude and disrespectful to others. Carnivine
Final warning
Consider this an ultimatum. The next time you are caught insulting and becoming angry with other members, especially sysops and bureaucrats, you will receive a 30-day ban so you can cool down. If you do not want this to happen I suggest you make some adjustments to your attitude here. --Argy 03:48, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- What a wonderful method to appreciate someone's hard work. --Maxim 09:25, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- You were told on several occasions to calm down and you have yet to do so. You brought this on yourself by having a temper. -Sketchies 11:36, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Your work is not in question. It's your attitude, and I really don't appreciate your sarcasm at my warning. --Argy 15:46, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Names
Please do not delete name meanings from characters in English. You'll notice we leave the meanings of the names in Japanese up even though they have nothing to do with the character, just for the sake of interest. For instance, Hyouta's name is still listed as meaning gourd even though that really has nothing to do with rocks or a pun or anything. We should do the same for the English names as well. --Zeta 17:01, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
But isn't the REAL intention of giving the name. I think we should focus on original intentions, not meanings which don't really matter. And where are the meanings taken from? Babynames.com? They have a lot of fake meanings, and even fake names (most names listed as "Polish" don't exist, not in Poland). I never trust name services like that. --Maxim 17:09, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Well, then why do we have the Japanese name meanings if there's no real intentions behind them, mostly - except just giving them ANY name? Do people really need to know that Pryce's Japanese name Yanagi, means "willow" - when it doesn't even relate to anything? --Zeta 17:24, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- Look, it's in the Trivia section. Don't the meanings count as trivia? Why not include it? People might find it interesting. I still find it very interesting that Brock means "badger". --Pie ~♪♫ 22:26, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
...okay then
Is there any need to scream?--Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 18:05, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- It's not the first time I hear such thing (about games being based on manga/anime). Special is just more closer adaptation of game. Red got an Espeon in Volume 9 of manga. The Pokémon Gold & Silver games (where he had one) were released much before the manga. Just a reminder. --Maxim 18:15, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think Urutapu has a point, though. You have an OBNOXIOUS TENDANCY to capitalize words to make them look MORE IMPORTANT, and to give the impression that you are above other members because of the AUTHORITATIVE manner of your speaking. It is INSULTING to the other users, as if you are BOSSING THEM AROUND. Every time I see your CAPITALIZED WORDS, I am a little tempted to SLAP YOU. Please learn to calm down a bit, because treating the Bulbapedia as SERIOUS BUSINESS is not the same as editing maturely and with dignity. In fact, I feel it is the OPPOSITE. And that is the OFFICIAL word from the temp editor in chief. --Pie ~♪♫ 19:19, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Hebrew names
Okay look: The Hebrew names may be just transliteration, but they are OFFICIAL. Not fannon. Pokémon is (naturally) dubbed in Hebrew, and while the names aren't changed from English, they are spoken in Hebrew. They exist. Who are you to say they matter less then in any other language??? The name I listed there is accurate, and not the same as the one that was listed there before. Why does it bother you that it was there? You're being rude for no reason at all. --ElectAbuzzzz 14:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- And what? It's just an anime dub. So, writing versions don't exist. The names are pronounced the same way, because they're still the same names. It's NOT our policy to post the same names in all possible alphabets. We can add Greek, Arabic, Esperanto or whatever, but it'll be still the same, but transliterated to other alphabet. So, it's completely pointless! Additionally, many of these Hebrew and Russian "translations" are inaccurate (like Фоэб for Phoebe). And how the hell can character like Hoenn E4 (except Drake) or Janine have Russian and Hebrew names, as they never appeared in the anime. It's unlogical to me. Where's no games, there's no stable translations. Remember that for your life. Transliterating the same name too 100 other languages is NOT our policy on names, KYAPISU? --Maxim 16:13, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't add the ones that weren't on the anime, and I agree adding them is wrong. But the characters that DO appear in the anime, like Archie, should have the name listed. Why does it bother you? It's just an extra trivia thing. I don't know Russian so I don't know (or care much) if Phoebe's name is listed weong in Russian. But Hebrew is my first language and I know how to spell names of characters that appeared in the anime. The name I fixed on Archie's page if right (before it was "Arki" for some reason). Last I checked, you don't decide what's the policy here, and I don't see and sysop siding with you on this. It may not be important, but it shouldn't BOTHER you either. Just let it be. And stop "KYAPISU?"ing everyone. You're not above anyone here. --ElectAbuzzzz 16:49, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ya rly. Stop trying to do my job. Our general policy is that if there's a reliable canon source for the information (like, say, the anime and a native speaker collecting info from it), it's relevant information, even if it's only going to be in the Trivia section of the article. But that's not what bugs me so much about this situation; it's your attitude, Maxim. The more you boss people around like you're on the editorial board around here, the less likely you'll ever be on that board. And stop ripping off my "capisce" with your Itarian mockery. Capisce? --Pie ~♪♫ 18:35, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- So, where are the written version from? It's a DUB. Pronounciation is the same, there aren't any notable changes in the names. I still think it's pointless. --Maxim 08:13, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

French Names
Oh, the tricks of the trade!! :P I'm joking... I went to Pokémon Trash seeking for news and I red this passage in the comments for the last news: sur pokebase il y a le noms des champions dont ma preferer Gladys la championne de type glace ensuite tanguy type electrik flo type plante melina type combat kimera type spectre et charles type acier pierick type roche que nous connaissons il ne reste que celui avec les pokemon eau ensuite pour le conseil des 4 c'est dans l'ordre aaron terry adrien lucio et cynthia voila. So I went to www.Pokemonbase.net on so the story ends... Do you think they are reliable? --Siegfried 10:06, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- I usually don't trust random guys. They can stay in article for now. We must wait for their confirmation/denial. Furthermore, where did you get Dawn's Italian name? According to my sources it's Aurora not Alba. --Maxim 11:31, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind, actually. These names are now confirmed. --Maxim 12:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
