A Doctor (Japanese: ドクター Doctor) is a type of Pokémon Trainer introduced in Generation V. Battling them is optional; they do not challenge the Trainer upon sight, but instead when spoken to. Upon being defeated, the Doctor will heal the Trainer's party fully, and any time spoken to afterwards. Some will give out Max Revives when defeated. They are the male counterparts of Nurses.
