A Skier (Japanese: スキーヤー Skier) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation II games. They look like young women (and, in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, young men) dressed in winter clothing and on skis.

At first, they appeared to be the female counterparts of Boarders. However, in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, they appeared in both genders as Skiers. The male Skier also looks nearly identical to a Boarder in outfit design.

In Generation II, these Trainers are only seen in Pryce's Gym; in HeartGold and SoulSilver an additional Skier can be found in the Seafoam Islands. In Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, they are found on Routes 216 and 217.

While in Diamond and Pearl there does not seem to be any preference in type, in other appearances, they specialize in Ice-type Pokémon.
