- Like the moves Heat Wave and Twister, many Flying-type Pokémon can learn Ominous Wind through the Platinum Move Tutor, despite its off-typing; this is due to the move's use of wind, which Flying-type Pokémon utilize.
- This move and Heat Wave have the same in game animation, the only difference being the color.
