Suction Cups (Japanese: きゅうばん Suction Cups) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Only three Pokémon have this Ability.

Effect

Suction Cups firmly anchors the body. This Ability prevents the opponent from forcing a switch, or in the wild ending the battle, with Roar, Whirlwind, Dragon Tail, or Circle Throw.

Outside of battle

From Pokémon Emerald onwards, if a Pokémon with Suction Cups is in first place in the player's party, bites will occur more often while fishing. Sticky Hold has the same effect.
