Trivia
Origin
Zygarde's appearance is based on a snake in the shape of the letter Z. It may also draw inspiration from Níðhöggr, the serpent from the Poetic Edda, which resided at the bottom of the world tree Yggdrasill and gnawed at its roots.
Name origin
Zygarde may be a combination of Z-axis, ζυγωτός zygōtos (Greek for joined), and garde (French for guard).
