Ash's Hawlucha (Japanese: サトシのルチャブル Satoshi's Luchabull) is the third Pokémon that Ash Ketchum caught in the Kalos region.
History
Hawlucha made its first appearance in XY035, battling an Ursaring who was stealing food from a group of Pokémon. Hawlucha appeared to have beaten Ursaring, but ended up missing with its Flying Press. Ursaring tried to finish Hawlucha off but Ash and Pikachu stepped in and scared it off by breaking its rock with Iron Tail. Hawlucha was later found near a waterfall trying to master Flying Press. Ash offered to help Hawlucha by holding up a log for Hawlucha to aim at. Though it failed the first two times since it couldn't change its aim, Hawlucha succeeded on the third. Midway through the training Ursaring showed up again, accompanied by a Conkeldurr and a Machamp. Hawlucha had a battle with Machamp first, its rapid Karate Chop attacks dealt lots of damage to Machamp but later Machamp easily took the attacks, and it was an even match until Ursaring and Conkeldurr stepped in and double teamed Hawlucha. Just when it seemed Hawlucha was beat Machamp jumped in and defeated both Ursaring and Conkeldurr and dragged them off.
Ash then challenged Hawlucha to a battle with his Froakie. Due to its speed it easily dodged Froakie's Water Pulse. Hawlucha's High Jump Kick was avoided by Froakie's Double Team and it took recoil damage from the miss. Then Froakie gave chase to Hawlucha by climbing rocks but Hawlucha clearly outsped it and it avoided a Bubble causing Froakie to fall into the water. It then dodged its Double Team - Pound combination and hit it with its High Jump Kick. Remembering Ash's words it performed a Flying Press which Froakie countered with Pound. The battle ended in a tie when Hawlucha knocked itself and Froakie out from this collision. After the battle Ash invited Hawlucha to join his team, which Hawlucha accepted.

Trivia
- Hawlucha is Ash's first basic stage Flying-type Pokémon that is not capable of evolving.
- Not counting Aipom (who had no evolution at the time of her capture), Hawlucha is Ash's first Pokémon that cannot evolve since Torkoal, who was caught 502 episodes earlier.
- Coincidentally, Torkoal was also voiced by Shin'ichirō Miki in Japanese.
