Route 116 in Ruby and Sapphire
Route 116 (Japanese: 116ばんどうろ Route 116) is a route in western Hoenn, connecting Rustboro City and Rusturf Tunnel.
Route description
There are three large patches of grass on the route, containing wild Pokémon at low levels. This route is also the first area where Trainers will encounter wild Whismur.
To the east of this route, near the entrance of Rusturf Tunnel, is the Tunnelers' Rest House, which is not accessible until the player rescues Mr. Briney's Peeko from a Team MagmaROR or Team AquaSEAS Grunt. Inside are workers who were previously working on the construction of Rusturf Tunnel but stopped due to the harm it brought to the wild Pokémon in it.
A sizable portion of the route requires Cut to access. On the east side of the route, east of the entrance to Rusturf Tunnel, is a location where a Secret Base can be made.

evolving, press the B Button while it
is trying to evolve.
The startled POKéMON will stop.
This is called an evolution cancel.
TRAINER TIPS
Your BAG has several POCKETS.
Items you obtain are automatically
placed in the appropriate POCKETS.
No TRAINER can afford to be without
a BAG of their own.
Trivia
- School Kid Jerry notably owns a Ralts and later obtains a Banette. In the anime, Max is based on the School Kid Trainer class and befriends a Ralts and a Shuppet, the pre-evolved form of Banette.
