Trivia
Origin
Hippowdon is based on a hippopotamus.
Name origin
Hippowdon's name is derived from hippopotamus, power or powder (as in sand), and the suffix -don which can be taken to mean "tooth" or "lord".
Kabarudon's name is derived from the Japanese word kaba, "hippopotamus", which it is based on.
