My name is Caroline. I am a freshman at Western Michigan University. I have been playing Pokémon since the summer before my freshman year of high school. Initially, I played exclusively with emulators. The first game I beat as such was Pokémon Blue, in which I started with Squirtle. After starting to learn the ins and outs of Pokémon games with the help of experienced friends and Strategy Wiki, I can say that the player who inspired me to advance to Generation II and the rest of the series, starting with his Crystal Let's Play, was Chuggaaconroy. In my sophomore year, I bought a DS Lite, which has since died and been replaced, off a friend and the first game I beat legitimately was Pokémon Diamond, in which I started with Chimchar.
In the last three years, I have assembled the largest collection of Pokémon games among my peers. My main series games include Blue, Gold, Crystal, Ruby, LeafGreen, Emerald, and all thirteen games of the last three generations. I also have Stadium 2, Colosseum and Battle Revolution. I don't shame people that want to play with glitches and hacks and will gladly go nuts with them on emulators; however, I abhor the idea of having them on my cartridges, so I trade between multiples systems, including a 3DS, a 2DS, a Game Boy Advance and a Game Boy Advance SP. I also have a Wii, a Nintendo e-Reader, the original Eon Ticket and a Nintendo 64. I have kept or ordered cases for each game, and have patronized Custom Game Cases to house the Game Boy family.
I am a clinical completionist...
I strive to collect all the items and Pokémon in each game, and to refrain from using items that are non-renewable (most TMs in the first four generations, Master Balls, etc.)
While they are not necessary to complete the National Pokédex, I want to obtain as many mythical Pokémon as legitimately possible. My Wii has My Pokémon Ranch on it, which is an easy way to obtain Phione and, as many people seem to forget, the only legitimate, renewable way to obtain Mew.
My goals include having a living Pokédex in every game, and assembling a stockpile of TMs (in the first four generations), PP Ups, Rare Candies and EV resources to make any freshly bred, high IV Pokémon competitively viable with ease.
My goals for collecting (in the games, and the games themselves) are best typified by my desire to have a Japanese GameCube and Generation III game, so that I can use the Japanese Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disc (after completing the Japanese Pokémon Colosseum of course) to have a renewable source of Celebi.
My Bank:
Games Currently in Progress:
