Mr. Cheeves is a character of the day who appeared in Two Degress of Separation!, as James's butler. He was nameless in the Japanese version.
Cheeves is part of the staff at James's second summer home in Sinnoh. Upon arriving after a battle with Pikachu, Dawn, and Piplup, and finding his Carnivine, James summons Cheeves with a food order for himself, Jessie and Meowth.
Once on the scene, however, Mr. Cheeves reveals innocuously that he's contacted James's parents about his arrival; they and Jessiebelle would be arriving the next day, having expressed their eagerness to reunite with him. Consequently, it ruins Team Rocket's plans of making the summer home their base of operations in Sinnoh.
