Trivia
- Dawn reads the title card.
- Music from Jirachi: Wish Maker, an instrumental version and the ballad instrumental version of By Your Side ~Hikari's Theme~ are used as background music.
- Professor Oak's lecture: Pokémon Contest Appeal Round
- Pokémon senryū: ポケモンが かれいにまわるよ コンテスト Pokémon, oh they spin beautifully; that is a contest.
- The next episode preview is narrated by Ash.
- This is the second episode to use the word "Assault" in Pokémon, the first being in "The Joy Of Pokémon".
- In the dub, Misdreavus' name is pronounced "Mis-DREE-vus" rather than "MIS-dri-vus", the way the 4Kids dub pronounced it. It's possible that Pokémon USA may fix this error sometime.
- Most fans say that Misdreavus used Shock Wave only on the dub, but in Japanese it used the same move.
Errors
- In one scene, Ash's shirt is not showing underneath his jacket.
