Soak (move): Difference between revisions
I feel like this link is more useful for soak. You don't really care about things like seasonal sawsbucks or giratina formes here. |

Soak (Japanese: みずびたし Waterlog) is a non-damaging Water-type move introduced in Generation V.
Effect
Generation V
Soak changes the target's type to pure Water. The effect lasts as long as the target remains in battle; however, changing form or transforming undoes the effect. Soak succeeds even if the target is already a pure Water-type Pokémon.
Soak fails if used on a substitute or Arceus.
Generation VI onward
If used on a pure Water-type Pokémon, Soak's animation will still play, but the game will now state that the move has failed. Soak fails if used on Silvally.
Soak can be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if the move Rain Dance was used in the prior turn.
If powered up by a Waterium Z into Z-Soak, the user's Special Attack stat raises one stage.
