Release information
This card was included in the Jungle expansion as both a Holofoil and Non Holofoil card, first released in the Japanese Pokémon Jungle expansion as only a Holofoil card. The Holofoil print of this card was later reprinted in the Base Set 2 expansion.
A special reprint was included in the Platinum expansion with the same artwork by Ken Sugimori, first released in the Japanese Galactic's Conquest expansion. This print modified some of the card text to bring it in line with modern card wording whilst still allowing it to retain its original effects.

Trivia
Early prints of the Unlimited Holofoil version were printed without the Jungle set symbol. This error was corrected later in the print run.
Origin
Swords Dance and Slash are both moves in the Pokémon games that Scyther can learn. This card's English Jungle Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, though it is slightly reworded. The Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green. The Platinum Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon FireRed.
