Plot

At the ferry port on Melemele Island, Ash, his classmates, and their Ultra Guardians Ride Pokémon board a ship headed for Pokémon Paradise Resort. On the ship, Sophocles explains to Ash that Pokémon Paradise Resort is a spa for Pokémon located on Akala Island, with hot springs, a pool, a restaurant, and other sorts of facilities, which makes it a popular spot that attracts customers from all over the world. Lillie states that their Ride Pokémon must be exhausted from all the Ultra Guardians mission and that they should all get plenty of rest. Mallow states that it was nice of Lusamine to get reservations for all of them and notices Oranguru on the ship. As Mallow expresses her surprise, an attendant reveals that Oranguru is a regular customer.

The kids arrive at Pokémon Paradise Resort where after Oranguru checks in, they check in under the Ultra Guardians and are asked which area they would like to visit first. The attendant explains that the facility is divided into multiple areas, two of them being the Care Area, where Trainers can have their Pokémon treated; and the Play Area, where they can have fun. Ash immediately says that he wants to go to the Play Area, but Mallow reminds him that they need to have their Ride Pokémon treated. Upon seeing Pikachu, Poipole, and Togedemaru eagerly looking at the water slide, the kids send all their Pokémon to have fun at the Play Area, but Rotom is more interested in the Care Area and decides to accompany the kids and their Ride Pokémon. The group is then lead to the counseling room to decide which course would be the best for each Ride Pokémon: Charizard is recommended the Fatigue Recovery Course, Metang is recommended the Joint Care Course, Dragonair and Altaria are recommended the Moisturizing Course, and finally, Flygon and Garchomp are recommended the Stress Course.

As the kids go to change clothes, it's revealed that Team Rocket are working at the resort and they see this as a chance to steal Pikachu and all the Ride Pokémon. Mareanie attempts to latch onto James again, but she is stopped so that their cover doesn't get blown. Meanwhile, the kids' Pokémon arrive at the Play Area, where it's filled with Trainer and their Pokémon enjoying the pool, volleyball field, and food stands. Most of the kids' Pokémon run off to play in the water, but Torracat and Turtonator seem averted to that idea. Then, they see Tsareena relaxing on a lounge chair and decides to join her. The kids arrive at the hot springs; Ash dives into one and encourages the others to hurry in. Then, Flygon jumps in, causing a huge splash. Mallow is annoyed about Flygon copying Ash as the latter apologizes. Suddenly, Garchomp gets determined and also jumps in, causing another huge splash. Lillie sighs and suggests to Altaria that they enter slowly, however, Altaria has a different idea in mind and forces Lillie along as it jumps in. Lillie emerges from the water with a pouty face and tells the viewers not to try this at home.

Later, the rest of the group enter the hot springs and enjoy themselves as Sophocles notices that Charizard in particular seems to enjoying itself. Kiawe explains that Charizard likes hot springs, and Rotom updates the data on Charizard with this new info. Mallow notes that there are a lot of Pokémon, which makes Ash wonder how their Pokémon are doing. Back with the Pokémon, they are still enjoying their time in the Play Area. Marowak and Pikachu try to get Torracat and Turtonator to try the water slide, but they are reluctant. Marowak tries to drag Turtonator over to the water slide, but then Jessie appears and tells Marowak to not force Turtonator as some Pokémon do not want to get wet. Team Rocket convince all the Pokémon to get in the boat and lock the doors, trapping them inside. Then, Team Rocket push the boat away somewhere. Team Rocket spies on them and plans to get the Ride Pokémon too much relaxed so that they won't have the strength to fight back.

At the Moisturizing Course, Altaria and Dragonair are given a mud treatment. Lillie rubs some mud on Altaria, who in turn, rubs against Lillie, getting mud on her as well.
