The Normalium Z (Japanese: ノーマルZ Normal Z) is a type of Z-Crystal introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. It is the type-specific Z-Crystal associated with the Normal type and allows Pokémon to upgrade their Normal-type moves to Z-Moves.

In battle

Allows the holder to upgrade its Normal-type damaging moves to the Z-Move Breakneck Blitz or upgrade its Normal-type status moves into Z-Moves.

Unaffected by item negating effects (such as Embargo and Klutz). Item manipulating effects (such as Trick and Fling) cannot remove a Z-Crystal from a Pokémon.

Rayquaza cannot Mega Evolve if it holds a Z-Crystal.

Outside of battle

A held Normalium Z is automatically removed if the Pokémon is traded between players.

Ash obtained a Normalium Z from a Totem Gumshoos after completing the Verdant Cavern trial in To Top a Totem!. He and Pikachu first used it to perform Breakneck Blitz in Trial and Tribulation!.

Gladion was revealed to have obtained a Normalium Z in SM089, where he and Silvally performed Breakneck Blitz to attack Necrozma.

A full set of replicas of the type-specific Z-Crystals, including Normalium Z, appeared in A Team-on-Team Tussle!, where they were shown to Ash and his classmates by Professor Kukui.
