Trivia
- There are only two Pokémon created so far that are naturally weak to no type, of which Sableye is the first. The other is Spiritomb. The only ways to get a super-effective hit on those two are either to use Foresight or Odor Sleuth followed by a Fighting-type move, or to use a Pokémon with the Scrappy ability which knows a Fighting-type move.
- Sableye is known for having both a ruby and a sapphire on its body. Its shiny form appears to have an emerald on the chest. It most likely has a connection to the three games of the generation it debuted in.
Origin
Sableye appears to be based on a gremlin.
Name origin
Sableye's name is a combination of sable and eye; it may also be a play on the word able-eyed. Its Japanese name may be a combination of 闇 yami, darkness, and 藪睨み yabunirami, a squint.
